ELECTRICITY STORAGE

Electricity is contained or stored using batteries and capacitors, which hold electrical energy through chemical reactions or electrostatic fields. To keep electricity safely moving or trapped where we want it, materials are split into conductors (which let power flow) and insulators (which block and contain it). 

How We Hold and Store Electricity

Batteries: Store power using chemicals and turn it back into electricity when you need it.

Capacitors: Hold a quick, small burst of electric charge using an internal electric field.

Supercapacitors: Store larger amounts of static electric energy for fast charging and releasing. 

How We Keep Electricity Contained

Insulators: Materials like rubber, plastic, glass, and dry wood hold electricity inside wires so it does not leak out.

Conductors: Metals like copper and aluminum guide and contain the flow of current down a specific path.


AMPERAGE = FLOW SPEED OF CURRENT 

Amperage is the strength or rate of an electrical current measured in amperes (amps). It counts how many electrons pass a point in a circuit each second. 

How Amperage Works

Water Hose Comparison: Think of electricity like water in a hose. Amperage is the amount of water flowing, voltage is the water pressure, and resistance is the size of the hose.

Calculation: You can find amps by dividing watts by volts (Amps = Watts / Volts). 

Why It Matters

Safety: High amperage can cause wires to melt, start fires, or cause severe electrical shocks.

Home Breakers: Standard home wall outlets use 15-amp or 20-amp breakers, while large appliances like dryers use 30 amps or more.
